THE BEST FROM TOKYO FASHION WEEK

THE ELEGANT AND EXTRAORDINARY FROM JAPAN

Motonari-Ono (So beautiful!)

Mikio Sakabe

Keiichi Muramatsu

So this week saw some of the most bizarre collections for Spring / Summer 2012 from none other than Tokyo Fashion Week. Designers made sure to shock with their outlandish and extravagant designs, with only a small handful of the designs actually being deemed wearable on the highstreet without looking like a total maniac! The Japanese are renowned for their elaborate and truely eccentric sense of style.  These are my favourite designs from the week!

DANGER! HIGH VOLTAGE

I want, I want, I want

As always, Jeffrey Campbell has excelled in its latest lookbook, this time focusing on a new collection of neon handbags.  The bright and wonderful bags are not only unique with their exotic colour, but have been totally brought to life in this lookbook with the help of Jump Jirakaweekul's excellence in graphic design.

VERSACE FOR H&M

IT'S VERSACE BABY- ONLY THIS TIME WE CAN ALL AFFORD IT! HOORAY!

So finally vogue.co.uk unveiled the latest H&M collaberation and it does not get better than this!  Versace for H&M lives up to the long awaited high expectations. The collection if full of bold prints, bright colour and elegant shapes; all of which have given the house of Versace its legendary status over the years.  For me, the collection symbolises the past 20 years of fashion all rolled into one. Don't get me wrong I do love the asthetic styles but I can't help but feel that maybe some of it is a little bit too '90's for contemporary fashionistas...

Stella McCartney

Stella McCartney

Yup - it's everywhere - the polka is back.  You've seen it before and you'll probably see it again! For me, this season is all about fitting as much polka dot action on to your ensemble as possible.
(Take note from Marc Jacobs - hats, hosiery, handbags and, eh lips?!)

THE MOST MAGICAL SHOW ON EARTH?

LOUIS VUITTON SPRING 2012 PFW

Marc Jacobs had his models perched side-saddle on an old-fashioned merry-go-round for his latest Spring / Summer 2012 Collection for Louis Vuitton.
White and silver were the signature colours but these were injected with candy floss pinks, butter yellows and sky blues.
Beautiful.

BALMAIN SPRING 2012

Olivier Rousteing’s western inspired vision for Balmain.
Metallics, denim, embroidery and structured pieces completed this collection.
Rock and Roll done tastefully!

CHARLOTTE FREE

@ Vivienne Westwood

Okay, so being a stylist at Aveda we have a tendancy to keep things natural, afterall our 'mission statement' is to keep things as nature intended. But oh no, not now- along comes Charlotte Free; the model of the moment with her exceptionally quirky pink mane of hair.  American model Free has quickly gained major fashion status with her appearances at London and Paris Fashion weeks.  It's unsurprising that the queen of bold colours- Vivienne Westwood - snapped her up to front her Red Label collection at LFW.

Charlotte Free to lead the pink hair revolution!!

STARTING OUT

So here we go!

So I've been an avid follower of many fashion and style blogs for long time now and decided- 'hey since my main passion in life is about fashion, why don't I give it a shot too!' Since I'm new to the world of blogging please bear with me whilst I get used to the whole thing.
